A shop offers 10 per cent off. What is paid for jeans marked Rs 1,450 and two shirts marked Rs 850 each?
ARs 2,745
BRs 2,835
CRs 2,845
DRs 2,915
Answer & Solution
Correct answer: B. Rs 2,835
1. Total marked price = 1450 + (2 x 850) = 1450 + 1700 = Rs 3,150.
2. Discount = (10/100) x 3150 = Rs 315.
3. Amount paid = 3150 - 315 = Rs 2,835.
4. Equivalently, pay 90 per cent of 3,150 = Rs 2,835.
5. Forgetting the second shirt gives Rs 2,070, and discounting only the jeans gives Rs 3,005.
