Privacy Policy

Qallery (qallery.app), operated by Ingenii Digitalization LLP.
Last updated: 13 August 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Qallery collects, uses, stores, and protects your information. Your privacy matters to us.

1. Who We Are

Qallery is operated by Ingenii Digitalization LLP ("we", "us", "our"). Qallery is a social, user-generated learning platform where students and other users create accounts, post and practise multiple-choice questions (MCQs), and share study content with a community. Most of the questions and content on Qallery are created by our users ("user-generated content"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information: (a) Account information: name, email, profile photo, and identifier returned by Google or Apple sign-in; (b) Content: documents, images, and photos you upload; questions, options, answers, solutions, hashtags, and any text you author on your profile; (c) Engagement data: which questions you attempted, what you answered, whether you were correct, time taken to answer, save / share actions, day streaks, current and best XP streak, total XP, and derived level; (d) Interests: courses and subjects you pick during onboarding or update later in Settings; (e) Usage data: pages visited, features used, device information, IP address, and approximate location; (f) Payment information (if used): processed securely by Razorpay — we do not store your card or bank details. Anonymous visitors are tracked only via a randomly generated anonymous ID stored on your device (see section 5 below).

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to: (a) provide and operate the Service — including AI-powered question extraction, the personalised feed, search, and the leaderboard; (b) compute and display engagement signals (XP, levels, streaks, accuracy) on your public profile and the leaderboard; (c) personalise what we show — the affinity ranker uses your past attempts to surface tags you engage with and topics you struggle on; (d) process payments and manage any credit balance; (e) improve the Service through analytics and usage patterns; (f) communicate with you about your account, updates, or support requests; (g) detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, or technical issues; (h) comply with legal obligations.

4. Public Profile and Public Content

Qallery is a social platform. The following information is PUBLIC by default — anyone with the Service can see it without sign-in: (a) your display name and profile photo; (b) every question you post (stem, options, tags, difficulty, solution); (c) your level, total XP, current day streak, and best streak; (d) your overall accuracy percentage and number of questions attempted; (e) your position on the leaderboard within day / week / all-time windows. Other users can also save and share links to questions you posted; the recipient sees the question on a deep-link landing without needing to sign in. You can delete individual questions from your profile, or delete your entire account from Settings, at any time. We do not currently offer a private-only mode — if you do not want content to be public, do not post it.

5. Anonymous Browsing

You may use a limited preview of Qallery without an account. While anonymous: (a) we generate a random anonymous ID and store it in your browser's local storage; (b) we associate your interests, viewed questions, attempts, saves, and the 3-reel preview counter with that anonymous ID; (c) we do NOT know who you are personally; (d) when you eventually sign in, we migrate your anonymous activity into the new account so your progress carries over. You can clear your browser's local storage to discard the anonymous ID and start fresh.

6. Document Processing and AI

When you upload documents or photos, or create questions from them, we use third-party AI and OCR services (such as OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google) for document parsing, content extraction, question structuring, solving, solution authoring, tagging, and classification. Your uploaded content is processed by these services to extract and organise questions. We do not use your content to train AI models. These third-party providers process your data under their own privacy policies and data-processing agreements with us.

7. Data Sharing

We share your information only as follows: (a) other users: public profile data, posted questions, level / streak / accuracy / leaderboard rank as described in section 4; (b) service providers: cloud hosting (Amazon Web Services), identity (Google, Apple, Firebase Auth), payment processing (Razorpay), and AI/OCR processing (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google) — all under data processing agreements; (c) advertising partners: Google AdSense on the web and Google AdMob in our apps, which receive the technical and device information described in section 12; (d) legal requirements: we may disclose data if required by law, court order, or to protect rights and safety. We do not sell your personal data to third parties, and we do not share your name, email address, uploaded documents, or the content of your questions and answers with advertisers.

8. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on servers in India (AWS Mumbai region), regardless of which country you access the Service from. We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), access controls, and regular security reviews. No system is completely secure; we will notify you of significant data breaches as required by applicable law.

9. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. After account deletion: (a) your personal data, posted questions, attempts, saves, interests, XP, and engagement signals are deleted within 30 days; (b) anonymised usage data may be retained for analytics; (c) data required by law may be retained for the legally mandated period. Backups containing your data are purged within 90 days of deletion. Anonymous-ID activity is deleted when you clear your browser storage; it has no association with an identifiable person.

10. Your Rights

You have the right to: (a) access your personal data; (b) correct inaccurate data — name and photo can be edited from the Edit Profile sheet, interests from Settings; (c) request deletion of your data — you can delete your account from Settings, or request manual deletion by email; (d) export your data in a portable format; (e) withdraw consent for optional processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at business@ingeniidigital.com. We will respond within 30 days.

11. Cookies and Local Storage

We use browser local storage to maintain your login session, your anonymous ID (while signed out), gamification state (current streak, sound/haptic mute), interest selections, and other app state. We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how the Service is used, which sets cookies for analytics purposes. We also show advertising, and our advertising partners set cookies and read device identifiers for that purpose; section 12 explains this and how to opt out. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but some features may not work correctly.

12. Advertising

Qallery is free to use and is funded in part by advertising. We show ads on the web through Google AdSense and in our Android and iOS apps through Google AdMob. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies and similar device identifiers to serve ads based on your prior visits to Qallery and to other websites and apps. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to Qallery and other sites on the internet. The information these partners receive is technical rather than personal: it includes your IP address, device and browser type, the page or screen the ad appeared on, and an advertising identifier. You can opt out of personalised advertising at any time by visiting Google Ads Settings at adssettings.google.com, and you can opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info/choices. On Android and iOS you can also reset or limit your advertising identifier from your device settings. Where the law where you live requires your consent before personalised ads are shown, we ask for that consent through Google's consent message, and you can change your answer at any time from the same message. We do not share your name, email address, uploaded documents, or the content of your questions and answers with advertisers, and we do not permit advertisers to target you using them. Premium subscribers are not shown ads.

13. Minors

Qallery is open to learners aged 13 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13, or under whatever higher age your country's law sets for a child to use a service like this without parental consent. If you are under 18 (or the age of majority in your country, if lower), you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian to use the Service. Parents who believe their child has provided personal data to us without consent can email business@ingeniidigital.com to request deletion.

14. International Data Transfers

Your data is stored in India regardless of where you are in the world, so using the Service from outside India means your data is transferred to and processed in India — by using the Service you consent to that transfer. Some processing (e.g., AI extraction by OpenAI or Anthropic) may additionally involve servers in other countries. Wherever your data is transferred, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place through contractual agreements with our service providers.

15. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page with a new "Last updated" date. For material changes, we will notify you via email or in-app notification.
