In a school, 10% of the boys equal in number to 1/4th of the girls. What is the ratio of boys to girls?
A3 : 2
B5 : 3
C4 : 1
D5 : 2
Answer & Solution
Correct answer: D. 5 : 2
1. Let boys = B, girls = G. Given 10% of B = 1/4 of G, so 0.1B = 0.25G.
2. Then B/G = 0.25/0.1 = 2.5.
3. So B : G = 2.5 : 1 = 5 : 2.
