In a parallelogram HELP with diagonals intersecting at O: OE = 4 cm and the diagonal HL = 5 + OE = 9 cm. Find OL.
A4 cm
B4.5 cm
C5 cm
D9 cm
Answer & Solution
Correct answer: B. 4.5 cm
Diagonals of a parallelogram bisect each other, so OH = OL. With HL = 9 cm and O the midpoint of HL, OH = OL = 9/2 = 4.5 cm. (The given OE = 4 cm is the half of the OTHER diagonal EP, so the full second diagonal EP = 8 cm.)
