Which is an effect of the Earth's revolution rather than its rotation?

ADay and night alternating
BThe seasons of the year
CSunrise in the east
DLocal time by longitude
Answer & Solution
Correct answer: B. The seasons of the year
1. Rotation is the daily spin on the Earth's axis; revolution is the yearly orbit around the Sun. 2. The seasons arise because the tilted Earth presents different hemispheres to the Sun through that orbit. 3. Revolution also produces aphelion and perihelion, eclipses, and varying lengths of day and night through the year. 4. Day and night alternating, and the Sun appearing to rise in the east, both follow from rotation. 5. Local time differing with longitude is likewise a rotation effect, since the spin carries each meridian past the Sun. _Source: NECTA CSEE 2021 Geography 013, Question 1: Multiple Choice Items, item (vi)_
