Which set of materials can cause a fire outbreak?
AOxygen, carbon and fuel
BOxygen, heat and fuel
COxygen, heat and carbon dioxide
DOxygen, foam and fuel
Answer & Solution
Correct answer: B. Oxygen, heat and fuel
1. Fire needs three things present together, known as the fire triangle.
2. Those three are oxygen, heat and fuel.
3. Carbon on its own is not one of the three, so the first set is incomplete.
4. Carbon dioxide is a fire extinguisher, so a set containing it works against combustion rather than causing it.
5. Foam also does not support combustion, and the set naming it lacks heat entirely.
