Why is the Uhuru torch vital in Tanzania?

1. The Uhuru torch race is run across the whole country. 2. Its purpose is to unify people by eliminating despair and hatred and promoting love and harmony. 3. It carries a message intended to inspire positive political, social and economic change. 4. Development projects are inaugurated along its route — classrooms, hospitals, dispensaries and water projects. 5. The race needs fit runners but is not designed to build stamina, and although some temporary jobs arise, employment is not its purpose. _Source: NECTA CSEE 2022 Civics 011, Question 1: Multiple Choice, item (iii)_
