Acceleration due to gravity at the EQUATOR compared to that at the POLES:

At the equator, the centrifugal effect of Earth's rotation reduces effective gravity: g'_eq ≈ g - ω²R. At poles, no such effect (λ = 90°, cos²λ = 0). Equator g is about 0.03 m/s² less.
