The Information Technology Act of India was passed in 2000 and later amended in:

1. Growing internet use brought cyber crime, fraud and cyber bullying with it. 2. India answered with The Information Technology Act, 2000, usually called the IT Act. 3. It was amended in 2008 to keep pace with changing fraudulent activity. 4. The Act guides the processing, storage and transmission of sensitive information. 5.
