The WOLBACHIA METHOD involves releasing Aedes mosquitoes (vectors of dengue, Zika, chikungunya, yellow fever) infected with Wolbachia into the wild. Wolbachia inside mosquito cells INTERFERES WITH the replication of dengue, Zika and chikungunya viruses, dramatically reducing the mosquitoes' ability to transmit these diseases.
