Age specific contribution shall be made by the beneficiary. 3. Each subscriber under the scheme shall receive a minimum pension of ₹ 3,000 per month after attaining the age of 60 years. 4. A1, 3 and 4
B2 and 3 only
C2 only
D1, 2 and 4
Answer & Solution
Correct answer: B. 2 and 3 only
Answer: B. Statements 2 and 3 are correct; statements 1 and 4 are wrong. PM-SYM (launched 2019) is a voluntary pension scheme for unorganised workers. Statement 1 is WRONG. The entry age for PM-SYM is 18 to 40 YEARS (not 21 to 40). Workers in the unorganised sector aged 18-40 with monthly income up to Rs. 15,000 can enrol. Statement 2 is CORRECT. Contribution is AGE-SPECIFIC: monthly contributions vary from Rs. 55 at age 18 to Rs. 200 at age 40. The Central Government contributes a matching amount. Statement 3 is CORRECT. Each subscriber gets a guaranteed MINIMUM PENSION of Rs. 3,000 per month after attaining 60 years of age. Statement 4 is WRONG. Family pension under PM-SYM is applicable to the SPOUSE only (50% of pension amount). It is NOT extended to unmarried daughters. (This may be confused with other pension schemes like CG employees pension.) Source: Ministry of Labour and Employment PM-SYM scheme guidelines.
