A massless pulley system has two blocks: m₁ = 6 kg and m₂ = 4 kg hanging on either side. Find acceleration of system (g = 10):

Net force = (m₁ - m₂)g = 2 × 10 = 20 N. Total mass = 10 kg. a = F/(m₁+m₂) = 20/10 = 2 m/s². Heavier mass goes down.
