What does the temperature of an object tell us about its particles?

1. Every particle in an object is moving or vibrating all the time. 2. Some particles move faster than others, so an average is taken. 3. Temperature measures the average movement energy of those particles. 4. A higher temperature therefore means faster moving particles on average. 5. Temperature is measured in degrees Celsius using a thermometer. 6. Heat is a different quantity, because heat is energy transferred, measured in joules. 7.
