Rule 27 (consideration NOT wholly in money) — value is determined as the open market value PLUS:
AThe money component plus an equivalent amount for the non-money consideration
BCost of money component only
CTwice the money paid
DAverage market price
Answer & Solution
Correct answer: A. The money component plus an equivalent amount for the non-money consideration
1. Rule 27 applies when supplier accepts part money + part barter (e.g. trade-in vehicle scheme).
2. Value = open market value of the supply. If OMV not available, sum of consideration in money + such further amount equivalent to the non-money consideration if known.
3. If still indeterminate, fallback to like-kind-and-quality and then Rule 30/31.
