ARupees 8000
BRupees 7200
CRupees 8800
DRupees 9600
Answer & Solution
Correct answer: A. Rupees 8000
1. Cost to dealer = 0.8X + 600; selling price = X with profit 100/7 %.
2. So X = (0.8X + 600)(1 + 1/7) = (0.8X + 600)(8/7), giving 7X/8 = 0.8X + 600.
3. 0.875X - 0.8X = 600, so 0.075X = 600 and X = 8000.
