Answer & Solution
Correct answer: C. Rs 3,000
1. Let incomes be 5x and 4x. Savings: 5x − 3y = 1200 and 4x − 2y = 1200.
2. From the second, 2x − y = 600 ⇒ y = 2x − 600. Substitute: 5x − 3(2x − 600) = 1200.
3. 5x − 6x + 1800 = 1200 ⇒ x = 600 ⇒ Ram's income = 5x = **Rs 3,000**.
